About the Book

The book is divided into four modules. The first module extensively covers various aspects of International Banking, focusing on recent changes in the functioning of international banks along with the gradual evolving of the global monetary system during the last six decades. The second module deals with the dynamic global foreign exchange and money markets with particular reference to the Indian markets. The third module covers, inter alia, various methods through which export and import transactions can be financed. This module also elaborates on institutions that are involved in such financing and in providing insurance cover. The last module dwells with the derivative transactions for hedging risks from currency exposures.

The book has been structured primarily keeping in mind the needs of those bank officials who intend to appear for optional paper on International Banking for the CAIIB qualification. However, the book will also be of interest to those who would like to have a view of the entire gamut of international banking--the risks and the challenges in today's liberalised global markets.
